Guest Presentation, Using the Hyperledger Platform to track open source, Mark Gisi, Wind River

  • 3 concepts: softer parts (tracked in ledger), software artifacts (tracked in ledger) and chain of custody - concept of using ledger to track through the supply chain
  • allows to know what data was delivered and when
  • SParts Projects - software parts ledger: free digital ledger to track open source artifacts across supply chain; 3 components: ledger (container), CLI, and
  • example/demo of 96board w/Zephyr OS
  • can compare compliance artifacts delivered to what is on ledger
  • can store a variety of different data in separate envelopes
  • targeting commercial grade MVP in Oct 2018

Tech Team Report - Kate/Gary

  • great set of meetings at Open Source Summit in Vancouver and good progress
  • focus on 2.2 spec which will hopefully provide multiple formats
  • new formats will make use of SPDX easier - yeah!

Legal Team Report - Jilayne/Paul

  • continue to work on old issues, happy to have GSoC tooling
  • no meeting today

Outreach Team Report - Jack

  • making updates to website, working through transition to WordPress
  • Gary and Steve working on updates to License list part of the website and making sure
  • Shane from OpenChain has joined outreach to help spread the wordJL
