Overview

The SPDX Tech Report program has been created to encourage individuals to write reports to be shared with the SPDX community covering a variety of topics that foster 1) the understanding and adoption of SPDX and 2)the understanding of relevant issues surrounding license compliance. Topics include (but not limited to) technical considerations, legal matters, adoption considerations and beyond. Periodically an SPDX working group may select certain reports to publication on the main SPDX website (spdx.org).

Tech Report Submission Checklist

  1. For consideration author(s) need to publish their work under one of the following Creative Common Licenses:
    • Attribution-NoDerivs CC BY-ND - This license allows for redistribution, commercial and non-commercial, as long as it is passed along unchanged and in whole, with credit to you. license
    • Attribution CC BY - This license lets others distribute, remix, tweak, and build upon your work, even commercially, as long as they credit you for the original creation. license
    • Attribution-ShareAlike CC BY-SA - This license lets others remix, tweak, and build upon your work even for commercial purposes, as long as they credit you and license their new creations under the identical terms. license
  2. Author(s) should prepare an abstract submit it to: Mark.Gisi@WIndRiver.com
  3. The SPDX Business Working Group will review the proposal at an upcoming reoccurring bi-weekly meeting and then inform the author(s) if their submission was accepted for publication in the SPDX tech report database.
  4. Periodically an SPDX working group may select certain reports for publication on the main website spdx.org.
